Lily stood at the edge of the great, big sea. The water tickled her toes with fizzy, white foam. "It's so big!" she whispered to her dad.

Her dad smiled and took her hand. "It is," he said. "And it's full of wonderful things to discover.

Lily waded into the cool water. A little crab with beady eyes scuttled past her feet. "Hello, Mr. Crab!" she giggled.

She saw a bright pink shell half-buried in the sand. It was swirly and smooth, like a frozen raspberry ripple ice cream.

Further out, a playful dolphin leaped out of the water, its skin glistening in the sun. "Wow!" Lily gasped, pointing.

Her dad lifted her onto his shoulders. "That's a dolphin," he said. "They love to play in the waves."

They built a magnificent sandcastle together, with tall towers and a moat all around. Lily decorated it with the shells she had found.

A cheeky seagull landed on the tallest tower, hoping for a snack. "Go away, you silly bird!" Lily laughed, shooing it away.

As the sun began to set, painting the sky in shades of orange and purple, Lily snuggled into her dad's arms.

I love the sea," she murmured sleepily. And she knew, this was just the first of many wonderful sea adventures.
